In 2003 Control House was chosen to provide the new control system for three large incinerator plants at a waste disposal company in the Midlands.
The “Waste-to-Energy Plant” commissioned in 1975 was designed around the Allen Bradley PLC5 and RSView SCADA system, equipped with dual redundancy and remote IO stations located around the installation. The Control House software engineers successfully modified the PLC & SCADA software without stopping the plant, while the electrical team completed the installation of new cables and containment to all control and power components.
Benefits
The end-user now enjoys a more efficient system due to more consistent, accurate and reliable control of all the hydraulic movements including dampers, feeder ramps, grates and other equipment. Throughput has increased significantly, which is welcome news to the recycling plant’s
operations team as well as the management
